The theory test is part of the Swedish Transport Administration's driving licence test. Once you have passed the theory test, you have 4 months to pass the driving test; otherwise, you will have to retake the theory test. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the period of validity of the theory test has been temporarily extended to six months. If you have trained at a local traffic school, they can book the test for you.
To take the theory test, you must have completed Risk training part 1 and Risk training part 2 (skidpan). The test is performed by the Swedish Transport Administration. The nearest test centre and the next free time can be found on the Swedish Transport Administration's website. There can be a long waiting list, so book the test well in advance!

You will find out whether you have passed or failed and how many right/wrong answers you had per category. If you fail the test, it is important to check which categories you need to practise more. The result is sent to your email and you can also see the result by logging in to the Swedish Transport Administration's website.
Priority when booking
When you book a test with the Swedish Transport Administration, you have priority for two theory tests and two driving tests. If you fail more than twice on the theory test or the driving test, there will be a longer waiting time for each test. So make sure that you are well prepared instead of taking the test to try your luck.
Tip: What approach should you have in order to pass the theory test
The most important thing to pass the theory test is that you try to learn and understand the theory behind the questions being asked. The questions on the Swedish Transport Administration's theory test are randomly generated from a database with thousands of questions, so it is impossible to know exactly which questions you will get. On the other hand, you know which theory the questions will be about, as it is the theory that is addressed in various theory materials, such as the driving licence book and the driving licence questions. If you know the theory, it does not matter which questions are asked or how they are formulated, because you will find the right answer by using the knowledge acquired.
